On a beautiful summer day on July the 16th, John's beautiful daughter, Kelly, married her best friend Harry Horman. . . Here's a message from her father, and our boss man/El Presidente, John Kohler.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of throwing the biggest party of my life, and for the best reason: A celebration of the joining of two families through marriage of our kids. I got a new son in law, and all his sisters and brothers, his Dad and Mom, their cousins, nieces and nephews. We filled up the picnic park at Tanana Lakes with guests, put the feed bag on and a keg on ice. It was a sunny day with a light breeze to keep the bugs off the throng of 130 friends and family. It’s great to see young people I care about with enough hope for the future, that they make a commitment to help each other and their future. I only cried a little, when I had to pay everyone. That’s not actually the reason I cried- but I was raised on John Wayne movies, so even admitting that much hurts a bit. I might have to cry some more. This is how it all starts. Next thing you know I’ll be eating baby carrots and Tofu. Anyways- congratulations to Kelly and Harry Horman. I’ll wait a few years before I start in on you about needing grandchildren.
HUGE congratulations to Kelly and Harry! All of us here at Rural Alaska truly wish you the best!
